Fixed Moments – On my often very long, even excessive walking tours, the camera was initially more for continuously adding on remarks, notes, experiences and mood pieces in a documentary photographic diary of a state of tense inner excitement.
It was less about the perfect photographic result than about fixing color situations and
correlations of forms of fleeting moments and appearances, so as to make them more
memorable via the retina later in the studio and develop painting out of these memories.
In recent years however, photography has become for me more and more an independent
visual medium, with an independent, unbound and unrestricted visual language.
