What fireworks of chromaticity of the most unusual and simultaneously subtle kind, what forms and structures are revealed to the observer when walking in and, above all, when seeing the landscape of Iceland – formed by fire and ice – from high above! How do we find a language that does justice to what has been seen, to give it form and artistic perspective.
Layer upon layer, built up by the addition, subtraction and renewed addition in processes of the longest duration are developed and compressed into pictures with their own independent sensuous world, made up of my remembered dreams and the landscapes of my soul.
In the particular moments given to me as reward for my artistic efforts there is also reconciliation and the comforting transcendence of my being into a greater whole.
